BIOGRAPHY

Peter James (Peter Kelly) is a Toronto-based DJ, dancer, and producer moving at the intersection of disco, house, and club culture. A lifelong dancer with over a decade in nightlife, his sets are rooted in movement, shaped by house, hustle, jazz, and social dance forms that live on the floor, bringing that same musicality into the DJ booth. Expect a sound that moves between vocal, soulful, deep, Afro, and classic disco and house, uplifting and rhythmic, built for bodies in motion. A former company dancer with Toronto Dance Theatre, he brings a deep musicality and instinct for energy. Alongside his work as a DJ and dancer, he is a cultural worker and producer, creating events and supporting live performance across theatre and dance.

The dance floor has always been my greatest influence. Rooted in house, hustle, waacking, jazz, and tap, my movement is shaped as much by club culture as it is by the stage, including a decade as a company dancer with Toronto Dance Theatre. I have had the privilege of performing with DJ’s including Barbara Tucker, David Morales, The Shapeshifters, Horse Meat Disco, Tanzer, La Santa, Madam Lola, Jellyfish, Maya Margarita, and The Patchouli Brothers, among many others. What I bring is a reflection of that journey, one that values joy, groove, musicality, community, and the freedom to lose yourself in the music.
